Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Alice Mosberger is a postdoctoral research scientist in the Neurobiology of Action lab at the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University. She received her BSc and MSc in Biology from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and her doctorate from the Swiss Federal Technical University (ETH Zurich). During her PhD (advised by Dr. Martin Schwab) she investigated the reorganization of corticospinal neurons after axotomy and their role in the recovery of forelimb motor function in rats. As a postdoc in the lab of Dr. Rui Costa at Columbia University, she has developed a novel behavior paradigm for head-fixed mice to investigate the learning of skilled forelimb actions through reinforcement. Dr. Mosberger is now dissecting the role of distinct cortical projection neurons in action learning by using longitudinal neural recordings and cell-type specific manipulations.
