From The BRAIN Initiative® Alliance: A look back on the BRAIN Initiative in 2022 (and a look ahead)

Highlights from this year’s BRAIN Initiative Alliance recap include BRAIN Initiative researchers participating in new collaborations, developing cutting-edge tools, and demonstrating exceptional talent as they aim to advance our understanding of the brain’s inner workings. 

Exciting developments in the field of brain research and neurotechnology took place in 2022, and the BRAIN Initiative community was at the forefront of these advancements. In the recently published recap, "A Look Back on the BRAIN Initiative in 2022 (and a Look Ahead to 2023)," the BRAIN Initiative Alliance takes stock of the achievements and highlights of the past year.  

The BRAIN Initiative witnessed collaborative scientific advancements throughout 2022, including progress in developing high-resolution maps of brain changes in Alzheimer’s disease, events such as the 8th Annual BRAIN Initiative Meeting and congressional briefings on neuroethics, the importance of brain donations, and the impact of BRAIN Initiative funding on tool development in the hopes of accelerating cures for neurological disorders. And the development of new tools and data repositories continue to serve as a driving force for advancing our understanding of the brain.  

Looking ahead to 2023, the BIA offers a glimpse of what's to come for the BRAIN Initiative community. With continued advancements in technology and growing collaboration across fields, the future of brain research is looking brighter than ever.
