Please join us for the next virtual NIH BRAIN Initiative Multi-Council Working Group meeting on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Videocast will be available for the open meeting session.

This week, the Multi-Council Working Group (MCWG) will hold its nineteenth meeting to discuss the current state of BRAIN and ongoing efforts to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion in neuroscience. The first half of the meeting will take place as a joint session(pdf, 135 KB) between members of the MCWG and Neuroethics Working Group (NEWG) and will feature an update on NEWG activities. Input from the NEWG helps to ensure that neuroethics is fully integrated into the BRAIN Initiative. First, Dr. John Ngai, NIH BRAIN Initiative Director, will update the group on the current state of the Initiative. Dr. Ngai and NIH staff will also give a presentation on promoting scientific excellence in the BRAIN Initiative through enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Lastly, Dr. Kafui Dzirasa (Duke University), an MCWG member, will provide a scientific presentation of his work.

The meeting will take place on May 20 from 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM (ET). We welcome anyone to tune in via videocast. For more details, please visit the MCWG webpage. A meeting summary and an archived videocast will be made available in the near future.
