Upcoming Meetings for the NIH BRAIN Initiative Multi-Council Working Group and Neuroethics Workgroup

Videocasts will be available for the NIH BRAIN Initiative Multi-Council Working Group and Neuroethics Workgroup meetings on August 2nd and August 3rd

The NIH BRAIN Initiative Multi-Council Working Group (MCWG), consisting of representatives from the ten NIH Institutes and Centers participating in BRAIN, five at-large members, and ex officio representatives from DARPA, FDA, IARPA and NSF, provides ongoing oversight of the long-term scientific vision of the BRAIN Initiative, in the context of the evolving neuroscience landscape. The fifth meeting (PDF – 602KB) of the MCWG will occur on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016, at the Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC-Downtown (815 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20005). The videocast may be accessed here.

NIH and the MCWG established the Neuroethics Workgroup, which focuses on overall approaches for how research programs like the NIH BRAIN Initiative might handle important ethical questions related to the conduct and use of neuroscience research. The second meeting(pdf, 558 KB) (PDF – 472KB) of the Neuroethics Workgroup will occur on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016, at 815 14th Street NW, Washington, DC. The videocast may be accessed here.
