Upcoming NIH BRAIN Initiative Multi-Council Working Group meeting

Please join us for the next virtual NIH BRAIN Initiative Multi-Council Working Group meeting on May 24, 2023. Videocast will be available for the open meeting session. 

Next week, the BRAIN Multi-Council Working Group (MCWG) will hold its twenty-fifth meeting on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 to discuss the ongoing progress of the BRAIN Initiative. Dr. John Ngai, Director of the NIH BRAIN Initiative, will open the virtual meeting with updates on the BRAIN Initiative, including BRAIN investigator demographic and institute geographic data, as well as the upcoming 9th Annual BRAIN Initiative Meeting

Next, Dr. Christine Grady, BRAIN Neuroethics Working Group (NEWG) Co-Chair, will share updates on current activities of the NEWG, including a recent presentation of a NEWG consult to NIMH Council and a planned upcoming workshop on ethical considerations of data sharing with human brain data. The open session will also feature a presentation on engineering flies to study gene and protein function by MCWG member, Dr. Hugo Bellen (Baylor College of Medicine).
