- Tuesday, April 19, 2022: 12:00pm ‒ 5:00pm ET
LOCATION: Virtual
DESCRIPTION:
Please join the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) on April 18-19, 2022, for a virtual workshop, “The Brain Across the Lifespan: Tools and Methodologies for Measuring the Changing Brain.”
Mapping changing brain composition and dynamics across the lifespan is critical not only for establishing transient cell populations, but also for identifying periods of sensitivity in developmental processes that, when disrupted, can lead to disease later in life. Better approaches are needed to be able to causally link brain maps and processes associated with different life stages and identify biomarkers of atypical neurodevelopment that can establish the likelihood of neurodegenerative disorders in adulthood.
The workshop will bring together researchers focused on different timepoints and levels of resolution, in different model systems and over different timescales, to explore existing and emerging tools and methods for measuring changing brain cellular identity, connectivity, and activity over time. Registration for the workshop is free and open to the public.
This is a virtual workshop. You may access this workshop through the NIH Videocast website at the following link:
