The new Notice of Change extends the current application due dates period and updates applicants’ eligibility regarding the previous Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) to facilitate dissemination efforts from BRAIN Initiative-funded researchers.  

The BRAIN Initiative® has recently launched an essay and video contest for high school students called the BRAIN Initiative Challenge 2.0, which seeks diverse perspectives on the ethics surrounding emerging brain technologies. 

What would happen if humans could altogether stop the effects of aging on the brain? What if we could precisely map, record, and simulate the neural activity of memories? What if we could enhance brain function and intelligence?  

The next application deadline for the BRAIN Initiative: Exploratory Team-Research BRAIN Circuit Programs – eTeamBCP (U01 Clinical Trials Optional) is June 14, 2022. 

This Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) has been issued to facilitate integration of neuroethics perspectives in BRAIN-funded research on humans. 

Join us today for a virtual event that will bring together NIH BRAIN program staff, BRAIN-funded investigators, and others in the neuroscience community to discuss the latest advances in understanding the human brain, neuropsychiatric disorders, and behavioral processes as they relate to brain function. 

This F32 notice of funding opportunity supports research training of promising postdocs, early in their postdoctoral training period. The next application due date is April 11, 2022.

A virtual Congressional Briefing today will feature a panel of speakers to share information on the necessity of brain donation.  

Earlier this year, the BRAIN Initiative Alliance provided a recap of 2021 achievements by BRAIN Initiative investigators. Highlights include developing new tools and platforms, establishing key collaborations, and gaining recognition for their contributions to neuroscience and neurotechnology.  

This Request for Information (RFI) invites community input on opportunities to facilitate collaborations between academic/clinical researchers and potential commercial partners, to enhance the development and dissemination of non-invasive brain imaging technologies. The RFI is open until April 14, 2022.
