The 10th Annual BRAIN Initiative Conference: A Decade of Innovation will take place on June 17-18, 2024. Dr. Walter Koroshetz, Director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), shares what’s to come in his latest Director’s Message.  

The BRAIN Initiative is marking a milestone—10 years of advancing neuroscience and neurotechnology research by funding innovative projects. As part of a rotating series of blog posts, the Directors of the BRAIN Initiative-partnering Institutes and Centers share their voice and perspectives on the impact BRAIN has made on their respective missions—and vice versa.  

A team of BRAIN researchers have successfully captured real-time, high-resolution images of the developing mouse placenta during pregnancy. These results provide key insights into placental development under both healthy and pathological conditions.
