This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) will support the creation of Molecular Payloads Centers with a first application due date of June 28, 2023, and the earliest start date of April 2024. 

Last month, members of the NIH BRAIN Initiative Neuroethics Working Group (NEWG) and Multi-Council Working Group (MCWG) discussed research-related care needs for trial participants, emerging ethics themes, the annual BRAIN Initiative meeting, and more.

On August 23, 2022, the BRAIN Initiative Neuroethics Working Group (NEWG) held its 14th meeting. The NEWG ensures that neuroethics is fully integrated into the BRAIN Initiative as new tools and technologies emerge.

This funding opportunity, with the next due date of February 17, 2023, supports the development of next-generation tools to quantify complex behaviors and integrate them with simultaneous recordings of brain activity in humans. 

The NIH announced this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) with interest in team-centric non-invasive imaging technologies to understand brain function and connectivity. The earliest submission date is September 13, 2022, and the subsequent application deadline is October 13, 2022.  

This Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) encourages the translation of BRAIN Initiative-supported technologies developed by academic and small business sectors for commercial dissemination. The next application deadline is September 5, 2022.  

The next application deadline for the BRAIN Initiative: Team-Research BRAIN Circuit Programs – Team BCP is Friday, September 16, 2022. 

Last month, members of the Multi-Council Working Group (MCWG) met virtually to discuss the current state of the NIH BRAIN Initiative and to learn about new chemical and synthetic biology technologies.
