Dr. Christin Kosse is currently a research associate in the laboratory of Dr. Jeffrey Friedman at the Rockefeller University. Christin started her research career at the University of Cambridge, UK, where she studied plasticity in the barrel cortex. After completing a bachelor’s degree, Christin continued her graduate studies at University College London/Francis Crick institute, UK, where she studied hypothalamic circuits underlying locomotion and exploratory behavior. As a research associate, Christin aims to understand how the brain converts sensory signals of the body’s energy state into feeding behavior. For her BRAIN initiative project, Christin is combining circuit dissection methods, neuronal manipulations, and behavioral paradigms to investigate premotor circuits for jaw movements and their role in feeding behavior.
