This webinar aims to inform and answer participants questions on the BRAIN Initiative Research Resource Grants for Technology Integration and Dissemination funding announcement RFA-NS-22-011.

The BRAIN Multi-Council Working Group, which works to ensure a coordinated and focused effort on BRAIN across NIH, will hold a virtual meeting on Friday, August 20, 2021. This meeting will include a joint session with the BRAIN Neuroethics Working Group.

The BRAIN Neuroethics Working Group (NEWG) will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

The goal of this NIH BRAIN Initiative workshop is to bring together cross-disciplinary investigators to discuss the potential for human translation of next-generation circuit therapies for disorders of the central nervous system (CNS). The focus will be on the use of innovative and novel tools, which includes optogenetics, chemogenetics, and gene editing, as well as cutting-edge approaches to neuromodulation.

The purpose of this open meeting is to provide a forum for discussing exciting scientific developments and potential new directions, and to identify areas for collaboration and research coordination.

The goal of this session is to hold a meaningful discussion on promoting neuroethics engagement in neuroscience from interdisciplinary perspectives. This interactive session is part of the 2021 BRAIN Initiative Investigators meeting (although outside of formal programming), and will feature an introduction on neuroethics engagement by Dr. Kafui Dzirasa from Duke University.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) BRAIN Initiative and the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science will co-host a town hall meeting on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm ET.

The BRAIN Initiative Challenge is a federal challenge opportunity (prize competition) for high school students curious about science, the brain, and the ethical implications of novel technologies being developed and applied to understand the brain and treat brain disorders.

The goal of this workshop is to bring together neuroscientists, tool developers/engineers, and industry partners to identify new non-invasive functional imaging tools that could be realized in the next five to ten years.
