Dr. Nicole Ann Aponte Santiago is a current F32 award recipient who used the funding opportunity to investigate in vivo brain development. The F32 funding opportunity supports the research training of promising postdoctorates early in their postdoctoral training period.

The in-person briefing allowed members of Congress and key staffers to learn about breakthroughs in research from the BRAIN Initiative and to engage with a BRAIN study participant directly benefitting from advanced neurotechnologies.  

NINDS and the Fundamental Neuroscience Working Group (FNWG) will host a public webinar on July 27 from 12-1 pm ET to present draft recommendations and seek public input through a Q&A session.  

The human brain has been intensely studied by scientists for decades. This research has taught us that some health conditions share underlying biology – for example, pain, addiction, and mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety.

This hybrid workshop, taking place on July 17-18, will explore the inferences that can be made from human brain data and the potential risks of sharing human brain data, through panel presentations from researchers, ethicists, and research participants.

This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) seeks applications to assemble diverse, integrated, multi-disciplinary teams to conduct exploratory research and planning activities using intracranial surgical procedures in human neuroscience. The next application due date is September 22, 2023.
