Allen Institute to co-host a 3-day Neuropixels and OpenScope Workshop in June 2023

The Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics, the Allen Institute MindScope Program, and the University of Washington will co-host a 3-day workshop on June 21-23, 2023 for researchers interested in gaining in-depth knowledge of Neuropixels and OpenScope—two resources designed to collect in vivo physiology data at scale. Applications are open until February 1, 2021.

BRAIN-funded researchers inducted into the 2022 National Academy of Inventors class of fellows

The BRAIN-funded researchers Drs. Vivian Gradinaru, Bin He, Elizabeth Hillman, and Xiaowei Zhuang will be inducted into the National Academy of Inventors 2022 Fellow class, the highest professional distinction awarded to academic inventors.

From the BRAIN Director: Looking Back and Looking Ahead

In years past, attending the annual late-fall meeting of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) was a busy and at times tedious ritual. Months after submitting abstracts comes the frenzied work of putting together posters and slides and leaving our homes and labs for several days. Upon arrival, though, my mood quickly shifts to anticipation and excitement as new results are shared, new collaborations are hatched, and long-distance friendships are renewed or made anew.
